The Intimacy of Loneliness
This project was created over a period of three months, during the COVID lockdowns.
The photographs capture the intimacy of loneliness: an untidy bed in a solitary room; the narrow, confined world of a person living alone during the pandemic. I took the photographs every morning when I woke up and climbed out of my unmade bed, and the empty bed broke my heart every day.
I wanted to show only the bed, its surroundings, and the balcony door that connected me with the outside. These photographs are fragments of my life during the COVID lockdowns, and the bed shows these daily moments of melancholy.
